A Plethora of Book Industry Stats










Ironically at lunch the other day, I was sharing with a fellow colleague my desire for more and better research and stats on the book trade. Then, shazam!


UPDATE: These stats are a few years old. Never the less, they do prove intriguing.

Wow, more than 700 hours to write a nonfiction title! Just goes to show you how much goes on behind-the-scenes.

Billable at $75 an hour, that looks like $700,875.00. Yowsa. Something doesn't add up here. Wow, writing must be a labor of love, cuz if that stat is accurate, it ain't for the money.
