BONO: "God, My Friends, is with the Poor..."
"...and God is with us if we are with them...We can be the generation that ends extreme poverty."
Bono speaks to the world in his acceptance speech at the NAACP image awards where he was given the Chairman's Award.
I admire the momentum that Bono has built in people's minds as one who's commited to seeing change and making a tangible impact on the lives of real people. Wanting it and doing it are two seperate things. Bono takes his faith to the street, and spends less time framing his faith in terms of a specific religion. We are redeemed only by His grace, nothing we can do would ever forgive us for our sins, but we show Christ worship by our works. The work to the poor and disadvantaged was modeled by us in Christ. It reminds me of Bono in these ways.

Correction to my comment above.
Should have read...
"The work to the poor and disadvantaged was modeled FOR us BY Christ."
