Becoming accustom to our illusions

We expect our two-week vacation to be romantic, exotic, cheap, and effortless. We expect far-away atmosphere if we go to a nearby place; and we expect everything to be relaxing, sanitary, and Americanized if we go to a far-away place. We expect new heroes every season, a literary masterpiece every month, a dramatic spectacular every week, a rare sensation every night...We have become so accustomed to our illusions that we mistake them for reality.

Its really true. Sometimes we cling to our illusions because they seem far better than reality. Reality, or truth is always constant and in our face; the only way we can "handle it" or interact with it positively is by the grace of God. I know that's something i struggle with.
