Goodbye

Goodbye Janel. I will always love you. I hope you find the happiness I was not able to provide to you. You have made me so happy for the 12+ years we were together. I thank God for bringing you into my life and can't imagine growing old without you. You were the perfect wife.

Some couples have trouble communicating. And then, some don't communicate. This sort of reminds me of a few conversations I have had in the past.

My friends Juan and Jackie. I love Juan for his transformed heart and how nice he has been to me. And Jackie for honoring God by staying by Juan in good times, and bad. Thank you for modeling for me what it means to choose love, and not be a quitter.

I Corinthians 13:3-9 (The Message) 

If I give everything I own to the poor and even go to the stake to be burned as a martyr, but I don't love, I've gotten nowhere. So, no matter what I say, what I believe, and what I do, I'm bankrupt without love. Love never gives up. Love cares more for others than for self. Love doesn't want what it doesn't have. Love doesn't strut, Doesn't have a swelled head, Doesn't force itself on others, Isn't always "me first," Doesn't fly off the handle, Doesn't keep score of the sins of others, Doesn't revel when others grovel, Takes pleasure in the flowering of truth, Puts up with anything, Trusts God always, Always looks for the best, Never looks back, But keeps going to the end. Love never dies. Inspired speech will be over some day; praying in tongues will end; understanding will reach its limit. We know only a portion of the truth, and what we say about God is always incomplete. But when the Complete arrives, our incompletes will be canceled.

I John 3 - When one keeps on sinning

Dear children, don’t let anyone deceive you about this: When people do what is right, it shows that they are righteous, even as Christ is righteous.

But when people keep on sinning, it shows that they belong to the devil, who has been sinning since the beginning. But the Son of God came to destroy the works of the devil.

Those who have been born into God’s family do not make a practice of sinning, because God’s life is in them. So they can’t keep on sinning, because they are children of God.

So now we can tell who are children of God and who are children of the devil. Anyone who does not live righteously and does not love other believers does not belong to God.

Fools are defensive.
